How do the "re-issues" compare with the original?

I have a re-issue, but have never played, or even SEEN a real '57.

that 52 Gold top on ebay is it me or did they not introduce the tuneomatic bridge untill 57, the 52's usually have a stop tail piece.....................???? ??

Hi. The '52 has been modified. The old tailpiece has been removed and replaced with a stop-tail & tune-o-matic. Replace pickups as well. These mods would make it a great candidate to turn into a 54-56 conversion...
