  • well thats prolly why its a bmw lol

i got my rack from the junk yard cost 60 bucks put it in myself cost me 0 dollars

and 40 bucks for new alinment

  • Is it really that cheap?? I went over a speedbump too fast and my steering went tight. My mechanic said the ps pump needed to be changed....atleast 600 dollas. And he said that if its not the pump than the rack needs to be changed. And he said that would be even more.....buh its a bmw

  • juss replaced a new rack and pinion on a civic cost me 60 bucks lol

  • my swift gti's got non power assisted rack and pinion but its my chassis size that really makes it have responsive handeling.

  • cheers to early ford for showing fitment process. will keep in mind when i finally track down a nice 2 dr xm to restore. with quality made aftermarket products who could go wrong. cheers.

  • how can you say its a pain in the ass if you cant even do it. best way to do it, is to take it easy and do it slow. taht way you do everything right and wont mess up anything. take ur time and it'll go by fast

  • Probably i dont have that much experience. Me and friend were trying to repalce one from an Acura Integra, it waas so hard to takw it out: ) ) ) im still a student tough

  • It is all labor dude, I don't know but with the car being front wheel drive I believe that would be around right, but I don't know why the rack would go out so early though.
