religion is something that trying to fill in the blank question we have yet to answer. they thought they know the standing of eath in the universe, the shape of the earth and the age of the earth. everything they 'thought' they can bluff people into believing have been debunk and i can't believe there's still so many people into this kind of false hope and answer. i personally want to know the real 'truth' and answer. i want to know how big and how old the universe is. i want to know what's in i

Can God be atheist, governed by scientific laws?
Of course
Because if God exists, he must work in Absolute
Reference Frame and have a set of Physical/ Mathematical
laws to create everything
And if we find this Gods Absolute House
when we can understand Cods Physical Laws

But there is a strong tradition ( scientific and religious) that insists
that any time we say we know who God is, or what God wants,
we are committing an act of heresy

Humans tend to imagine a creator because we have the ability to think intentionally. We apply this to the natural world and in doing so make god in our image.

First of all atheism is not a positive claim. One can disagree with the God hypothesis and not provide an alternative.

The "apparent" design is better attributed to selective processes like evolution. Rather simply the reason the universe is such a way that we can exist within it is because if it wasn't than we wouldn't exist, this much is obvious and cannot be used to infer that the universe was made with us in mind.

You are a condescending little pseudo-intellectual, aren't you? Suppose thats redundant to say though isn't it. Fuck off.

It's only simple if you stop questioning it because it suits your beliefs and/or worldview. Okay, because something is constant, it could not have been created'? You're assuming this. I'm not arguing that what I believe about origins does not involve belief. It does, based upon good evidence, I believe. But so are yours since it hasn't and cannot be observed or tested. It's a belief, religious or otherwise, regarding origins.

you see this is where I feel we are drawing the line between us. i don't necassarily "believe" it must have had no beginning. There is simply no way to "create" energy, First "LAW" of thermodynamics dictates this, Energy simply moves from one spot to another. Questioning established things is, to a certain extent irrelevant. We don't question whether the earth is flat or not because we know for a fact it isn't. We don't question whether energy was "created" because we know for a fact it wasn't

Well, I will say that my belief in a Creator isn't just grounded in whether or not energy can or cannot be created. There's other factors that play into it as well. If there is a Creator involved in it all then it very well can be, but I see your point, looking at it from purely a naturalistic point-of-view. However, at least you're willing to admit belief comes into it. That's more than many are willing to admit.

ADeepVoice, my belief in Santa Claus isn't just grounded in whether the velocity of light is constant or not. There are other factors that play into it as well.
