The issue is, what are You going to do, not somebody else.

When you say "we don't choose what we believe", you are half right. In the Bible God commands everyone to repent ( Acts 17, 2nd Peter 3). However, the Bible warns that if we don't turn to God when we are able, our heart becomes hardened until we can no longer respond to Him ( Eph. 4) Nevertheless,we are still responsible for rejecting Him. Don't let it happen to U. By the way, the starving baby doesn't make choices God wud hold him accountable for thats a disingenuous argument.

God would have to start all over again and create people incapable of anything but doing good because they are programmed, without free will. By allowing us to choose now, even allowing people to bad mouth Him and live another day, He is giving us all a chance to repent, turn to Him, and someday be with Him in heaven because we CHOSE to love Him, not because we were programmed. Do YOU see the point??

Jesus suffered, not that we might not suffer but so that in our suffering we might become more like him.

To Groswirth- I've heard the same argument in reverse, that God is a mean ogre because He demands justice inthe Old Testament & strikes people dead. What would you do if u were God? God doesn't "make" evil people do what they do,so when you say He 'Controls everything' you must mean He is responsible because He could stop all evil now if He wanted to. Well, if He did that, there would be no one left pretty soon because the Bible says we are all evil, some more than others. continue.

Nobody chooses what they believe, so there isn't really a choice.
And the starved to death African baby didn't even know about your god. Is he going to pay for his choice?

You fail to see the point that God supposedly controls everything, thus he makes suffer, injustice and evil.

God would prefer us not to suffer, however if this is the only way to become like Him as Jesus is like Him (actually One with Him) we will suffer. At this point the question isn't, "Do we have to suffer?" but rather, "Will you suffer without Jesus and pay for that choice, which is hell or come tothe light and be reborn, which is beyond the fallen mind to understand and purely a gift from the cross of Grace. The Lord be with You.
