Hello! My name is David. I'm an Orthodox Christian living in the US. Your question is a delight to answer, even if only briefly. The most important introduction to Orthodoxy is the attendance of one of our services! We always say, "Come and see", because our faith is experienced by the whole heart and body, not just the mind. However, please visit W W W -DOT-orthodoxinfo -DOT-com (I don't know if a filter will hide a link.) You will find many good introductory articles about our faith.
Orthodox is a good thing-- but if you convert, do not become an elitist. You are not better because you are Orthodox. Knowing Christ is vital and that a person reach out to Christ however he or she can. Some people cannot relate to Christ as Orthodox do-- don't put them down. I am an Orthodox, but the biggest turn-off in the church is people within it who laugh at others because they don't "get it."
Firstly, read The New Testament, then the explaination of Orthodox Chuch by Kallistos Ware, also his Orthodox Way, but please PRAY and build your life by prayer and study,. Respond to life with love and peace, knowing God is making a holy life for you, Orthodoxy is the correct response that cements this action, "seals" it within the person, and answers the Grace and Mercy of God with a wholehearted AMEN!
