True, Carbon is not a pollutant under normal circumstances. The purpose of carbon credits/ carbon cap and trade is to control the amounts being released by man. Not to remove all CO2 from earth.

We only produce 3-4% of all the CO2. Please explain how reducing what we produce is going to make a difference (they have admitted it won't prevent supposed global warming)

"The purpose of carbon credits/ carbon cap and trade is to control the amounts being released by man"

The only thing cap and trade will do is make people like Al Gore richer. Those with low incomes, of necessity, have always kept their carbon footprint down. So who is adding all this CO2? Do you suppose Mr. I-grew-up-in-Hawaii is going to lower his thermostat? Do you suppose the White House A/C is kept at 78 in the summer and 68 in the winter?

The Carbon Cap and Trade is focused toward large corporations. Not the average person. A carbon tax on the other hand would be aimed at the average person, like extra tax on gasoline. The average person will need to cut back in our consumption just like the very rich. We as a species are not living sustainable.

You are very naive if you think they won't pass on the expense to their customers.

I'm not talking "average" - I'm talking about people who already have the thermostat set at levels that endanger their health because they can't afford higher heat/AC bills. "Mr. I-grew-up-in-Hawaii" (Obama) is not going to lower his thermostat and neither is Al Gore. We only produce 3-4% of all the CO2 and the gw promoters have admitted that lowering it will not change "global warming"

What do you think of an entire new trade on all types of pollutants ? Capping industries on all types of harmful waste.

It would only make some people rich (Al Gore, et al) and it would increase costs for the rest of us. It's also very unnecesary; we've come a long way since the 70's.
