At least 43,000 people are still living in slavery across Niger. They are born into an established slave class and labour for their masters without pay. Slaves are inherited, given as gifts, and sometimes have their children taken away from them. In April 2008, Hadijatou Mani, a former slave, took the state of Niger to court for failing to implement its own laws against slavery. People & Power follows her story.

"And such of your slaves as seek a writing (of emancipation), write it for them if ye are aware of aught of good in them, and bestow upon them of the wealth of Allah which He hath bestowed upon you."24:33 "Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Ascent is: (It is) to free a slave."90:13
Just a few examples, and the term "tahreeru raqabah" (free the slave) is repeated frequently in the Quran.
On Surah 24:33 you left out (to enable them to earn there freedom for a certain sum). This excerpt shows me Muhammad was on the slave owners side. But our right it does sort of advocate freeing slaves. Not exactly the emancipation proclamation.

90:13 is to vague at least in English to apply.
