I guess having good and evil makes life interesting, we as souls take a side, join in the fight, when people wake up to the truth, its makes life interesting too, its just shocking, we live for shock value.

Jesus did say "Ye are Gods", Jesus knew that God was inside of him, he also knew that God was in everyone, but most people thought he was a blasphemer. He tried to tell everyone that the kingdom of heaven is within and that God is love and that money is the root of all evil. Much of Jesus's teachings have been misinterpreted, and many people really dont understand Christ-love.
