I remember backing Vintage Crop to win the '93 cup. It actually paid around $16 on the tote in Melbourne. Dan Mielecki called the race and claimed the cup was going back to England. Shocking!

Why are you lying? There were only 11 people in Australia that have placed the bet on Vintage Crop, he's odd was 64-1. I remember that like it was yesterday.

Yes I remember that very well. In those days there weren't many foreign raiders in the Cup so the caller should have at least known were they came from. This commentary must be re-dubbed.

At the time I wrote that comment, which was 11 months ago, it had been a few weeks since we'd been to the Irish National Stud. Time does fly!
