Aeroplane narrowly escapes being hit by lightning over Brisbane 30/12/08

This plane was obviously trying to avoid the storm by flying low and not on the usual flight path. It was flying over the story bridge when it was almost struck by lightning as shown in the video. ...

cloud to cloud or intra cloud lightning does rarely strike planes. Planes most often get hit by cloud to ground strikes.
