We're holding a recycleable fashion show at the end of the year, and my kids have designed garments with aboriginal dot painting and they're going to model them while performing this dance, of course we cant do it anywhere near as funky as these guys. Absolutely awesome. Its really sad that some people cant get past their own prejudices and see the beauty these boys portray. The guy in blue is my favourite and my sons performing as him. Next time we're in oz we'd luv to see them perform live

Im a teacher in nz and have just had the pleasure of two aboriginal training teachers in my class for a week. One of them showed my kids this post and they luvd it. We've been doing it every morning as part of our warmup routine (before dreaded maths) and it has become more popular than zumba and tae bo which we usually do. Thank you so much for posting and my class and I would love to see more from the Chooky Dancers.

chineyginey, Is it true that the father (cameraman) has died ?
I just watched the "Living Black" story about the Chooky dancers on youtube, and was impressed with the story.
All the best success for the rest of the dance gang, and sympathies on the loss of your friend. It is inspiring to see how a small group of blokes can come up with an idea which takes the country, if not the world, by storm. In the process we can all have a bit of fun, and learn more of the culture behind them all.
