i have tried different baud rate settings and it still fails to be detected by the ms streets and trips software. Do you know what else I should do to get it work?

you can change the baud rate of the GPS in the BIOS to suite your map software.
press F2 when you see the Kohjinsha logo

not many netbooks have touch screen - yet
to pay 1000 dollars i rather put 1000 more and get a macbook pro or just 1000 for the macbook.
but mac has no touch screen - yet :)
