They should have NEVER made a Before Sunrise part 2 (or Before sunset as it was called) because it destroyed the whole concept of the first movie. That whole movie was a metaphor for life and death, how little time we have on this planet. That end scene where they say goodbye and the french cow Celine gets on the train was a metaphor for death and then they show goofball Jesse lost. That movie was a work of art and it was destroyed by making a sequel.
It's almost amazing that lyrics such as these get written. I have been into Daniel now for about a month. I've bought, Welcome To My World, 1990, and Artistic Vice. Pure heart is not something written by the swill of artists such as Ricky Martin or Christ, more than half the stuff pushed upon us in between commercials for Folgers coffee and Car Dealerships. It's written by people who hardly sometimes ever get heard. Kathy did a great job on this one too. And thank you Daniel.
Very well said. When you hear lyrics like this you realise just how depressingly drab and stale mainstream music has become. Or probably always was. It's a miracle daniel johnston gets any attention at all in the current climate but thank God he does. He makes my nose run and my heart beat faster
great cover of a fantastic original by daniel johnston. And of course, awesome movies. Both Sunrise and Sunset are great as well. The combination of this song/memories from the film/and the thoughts that conjure in my head while listening literally bring a tear to my eye.
