Most people are Irish. If my memory of Australian History from school it correct, alot where sent out as convicts by the English. That and at each roll call there was considerate number of O'____s and Mc____s.

Australia has loads of English heritage but they are all the rich ones like my uncle. One of my heros of the outback is Ned Kelly a Australian with irish heritage, i am still glad he died because if you think about it, if he had not hung he would of just been another criminal but hanging him made him a hero, also who wants to read about the guy who got away grew old and died in his sleep? not me live fast die young.

Pearce was send to Port Arthur for making "unwholesome" pies... they probably made somebody sick!
So he wasn't really terrible in the first place...

Pearce was sent to Sarah Island in Maquarie Harbour, not Port Arthur. There was no 'Pie Man' as referenced in the fictional film Dying Breed.
