Of course, there is a 'meaning' of life. The true meaning of life should be a universal one, not individualistic . It itself is paradoxical to say there is a true meaning of life & yet it will alter itself to suit diffrent people . Sadly people are too self-oriented or too weak to be able to face the true meaning. It always amuses me to see the similarity of grownup people to small kids refusing to believe there is no Santa Claus :)

The meaning of life is met with a paradox at the root of the question because once you ask that question there is an implication that there is a set meaning to life that we are then seeking, when on the other hand we can each have our own unique and individuated meanings that adhere to our strongest beliefs. Of course there can never be one absolute meaning to life but more so there can be a template, a general idea, a set path that is the best possible way for each individual

So I think its safe to say the meaning of Life is to experience for lack of the paradox....

To assume that what man does is against nature is to separate man from nature. This is not only an egotistical assumption but an inherently fallacious one as well. You speak of man "disrupting natural cycles" perhaps man is simply part of a larger picture including these cycles but not limited to them. To assume that beavers and their dams are part of nature but that man and his dams are not is ridiculous.

Such lovely questions. That's the beauty of philosophy, the questions not the answers.

aladinthemonkey... u sir, are no philosphist. we as humans are part of the eco system. if one species dies out, it doesnt signal the rest will come crashing down.. another will simply take its place. and yes, im including humans in that equation.
