As a 4-year-old in St. Louis I went nuts over the Andrews Sistees from their Kelvinator radio show. For my birthdays, Christmas, whatever, my dad compiled Andrews Sisters albums from 78 records. I decided I was the Andrews brother, Jim, and when I went on radio around the age of 10 I used the name Jim Andrews. I still have an autographed photo from the Andrews Sisters sent to me when I was around 5 or 6 years old. Eventually, I was able to tell it all to Maxene Andrews, who was very amused.

last sister died in 1995, check wikipedia for all info about the band and their achievments in Black & White era :)

Yea. Only a few years older then my dad. He went on a date with one of them and met Jack Benny in NY when he was in the Coast Guard.

They grew up in Mound MN where my dad grew up and we lived.

At my 25th reunion I met my old friend. His wife was related to them. Just co-incidence.

I am 45 and I love the Andrew Sisters!
