loch awe pike fishing

Thats no the Ederline mate,its bombed noo anyway,Cormorants have decimated the roach and most of the pike are damaged wi' Noddies bad handling etc ......still some cracking Perch though,3 lb plus,very hard to catch [thank God!]

cought a 12 pound pike there today,the water was low so fished the opposite bank from where this guy is,quality fish

nice fish mate never tried that part of loch awe think ill give it a bash. although i have to say dunno if its just because of the video or what biut it looks no where near 10 lbs

And by the way nice fish m8 well done. I'm going to be up around Awe this summer so i might do a bit of piking myself... anywhere in particular where you can get permits?

you can get a permit at fynne tackle in lochgilphead or in loch awe village if ur at the cruachan end of loch awe.tight lines:)

I wish people would stop blubbering about unhooking mats for fucks sake. If you've got some wet grass and/or fairly soft ground and you get the fish unhooked as quickly and carefully as possible, you cause far less stress than if you're arsing about half way up the bank with a big fuck off mat. Actually if you can grab the trace and unhook the bastard in the water! How do you think people managed before unhooking mats you tit?!

Before commercially available mats, many of us 'serious' Pike Anglers made our own, i've been using mats since 1982.
