It looked great, but was much too noisy.
Properly made and padded plate is nearly silent.
The devil is in the details, things like bronze bushing in the flex points,
linen or leather at the wear points, and tie down points to the under armor.

padded plate? I have never heard of anyone wearing padding with plate. Only have an arming coat.

Most people don't know what an arming coat is,so I used terms padding and under armor.
5 to 8 layers of linen, reinforced at the joints and load bearing points, IS padding.
Tie down points from the arming coat to the plate minimizes unwanted shifting of the plate, making it quieter and easier to move fluidly in, but does make it necessary to have someone help arm you.

the armour is padded and pointed. the shifting of the plate comes from the tassets rubbing against the legs and the shoulders rubbing against the back. No amount of tailoring can fix that. The echo is also pretty strong in that hall

That's where leather or cloth at the wear (impact, rubbing, clanking) points comes in .
See last picture at Plate Armour on Wikipedia.
The green or tan material between the tassets and the legs.
Not Maille, as maille is clearly depicted as such at several placed in the painting.
Thin leather glued (Hide glue dissolved in vinegar and Venice Turpentine, boiled overnight, was used to cement leather to metal) to the underside of the tassets and Pauldrons also works.

You have source for this? I've seen several dozen 16th century and quite a few 15th century preservations and I have never been able to identify anything of the sort. This is in fact the first time i've heard of people hanging a piece of leather or clothing to prevent wear and tear on the tassets.

I am taking Hist250 this year and someone asked if a knight was going to show up to the exam when we were doing our exam review!

Is it me or your left pauldron is tied in the wrong place? It seems lower than the right one.
