mozart oboe concerto 3rd movement...played by dondon resurreccion during his graduation recital in hiroshima japan.

Concerto in C Major K. 314 (285 b) W. A. Mozart Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) must have been finished writing his only oboe concerto on September 22, 1777 for Giuseppe Ferlendis before his great journey to Mannheim and Paris. In Mannheim he met the oboist Friedrich Ramm and gave this concerto as a present. Ramm performed the Concero several times in Mannheim with great success. Apparently the score remained among Mozart`s possessions upon his return, several years later, writing on February 15, 1783 from Munich, he asked his father to forward it to him: "Please send me at once the little book with the oboe concerto I wrote for Ferlendis. Prince Esterhazy`s oboist (Anton Mayer) wants to give me three ducats for it.E A short while later, on march 12, he repeated his request with a note of urgency: "I entreat you most earnestly to send me the oboe concerto I gave to Ramm-as soon as possibly you can." Finally, Mozart received it on March 29. Since then it vanished without a trace and considered a lost work. Not until 1920 when Bernhard Paumgarnter located an early set of manuscript parts of the oboe concerto in C Major in the library of the Salzburg Mozarteum. The work proved to be a slightly altered version of Mozart`s well-known Flute Concerto in D Major, K. 314(285 d), with differences most of all in the solo figuration. Paumgarnter was able to argue convincingly that this part was a secondary source of the supposedly lost "Ferlendis ConcertoEToday both the flute and the oboe concerto versions are well-loved pieces and a must-play piece for the oboist and for the flutist. The 1st movementSonata-Allegro-Form. Allegro aperto.It radiates the spirit of true Mozartean openness and clarity because of its transparent structure. The 2nd movementAdagio non troppoIt has an expressive melodic voice, filled with chromatic suspensions. The 3rd movementRondo allegretto.It has a lot of wit and brio and a folksy theme.In Mozart`s opera "Abduction from the Seraglio"the same melody was used by Mozart in one of its aria-meaning that, a few years later, the "speaking" melodies of the solo oboe actually found a singing, vocal realization. I wrote cadenzas for every movement.For the 1st movement I got inspiration from Pasculli`s Concerto on themes from the Opera "La favorita"Ex.1 For the 2nd movement I used the motif from one of the piano concerto of Mozart, because of its similarity to the motif of the oboe concerto, but in different rhythmic pattern.Ex.2 For the 3rd movement, I used some passages from Pasculli`s "La favorita" and at the end of the cadenza, I got the idea from Richard Strauss` Oboe Concerto in D. (scale with trills before going back to the theme)Ex.3
