Captain Sensible singing "Glad it's all over" from 1984, the Thatcher era (how depressing)! The one-time Punk Rocker with the Damned looks a bit like Ken Dodd in this vid. Anyway nice video & a great song!!

Totally agree with you scits1, as Blackadder said to Baldrick in Blackadder 4, 'it was just too much trouble NOT to have a war!", or something like that. Much too much money involved in arms, tanks etc, and of course the rebuilding of shattered countries therafter. I stilll wish the Captain would do another song! Live long and well!

@mark stevenson, sorry to be about a year late in replying, I was merely bemoaning the rancid state of world conflict that will probably continue forever. Do you think it will somehow stop? I was not "playing the peacemaker", whatever that means, and btw I was probably born before you, not bragging, just guessing. For the record I think this is a brilliant song, timeless, a bit like war, sadly.

was schooling in Madrid that year and heard this on the radio constantly..... Came back stateside with lots of new Viynal records and my mates had no idea who the groups were..... Never got a drip on commercial USA radio. What a shame. :(
