Jann Wenner, Editor in Chief at Rolling Stone, plus being on the Rock N Roll hall of fame "committee" will never let it happen. He had no use for the MC5 back in the day, and he certainly isn't going to honor them now. The "Rn R "hall of Fame should be called the "Popular Music" hall of fame. Underground influential acts like this are not nominated, all Wenner cares about are record sales. These guys don't need those suckass's approval, we know they're great and that really is all that matters

this is why wayne kramer is my biggest inspiration as a guitarist/performer: i can play these lead parts behind my head (literally), a lot of guys can. but no matter how many times i try to do the spin/spring move he does at 3:53, i can never, ever get it right. not only can he play, but his stage persona is phenomenal. every move he makes pulls you deeper and deeper into the music. same deal with tyner... born showmen. THATS what makes them the rock/punk gods that they are.

This was probably from "Detroit Tube Works", which was a weekly segment on the local public broadcast network(Channel 56 in Detroit back then). Some of their other stuff is on YT. This concert was one of the free Sunday concerts put on at Wayne State's dilapidated football field. Not all of them were filmed, a couple others that I saw included bands that played at the Grande or Eastown the night before. Savoy Brown, Terry Reid, Frigid Pink, Savage Grace and Commander Cody come to mind.

If record sales were all that mattered, the Monkees would be there too.

The "hall of fame" is an insult to the spirit of rock n roll.

I commented on that move a few days ago, on the other upload of this song. Being a long time player/musician myself etc..I think that move is the coolest/slickest/most beautiful thing I have ever, ever seen any guitarist do. Kramer is ,and was just the greatest! He inspired so,so many of us over the past 40 years. And so did everyone in the MC5. Like you said,"Born Showmen"
