Zach Wahls Speaks About Family

Zach Wahls, a 19-year-old University of Iowa student spoke about the strength of his family during a public forum on House Joint Resolution 6 in the Iowa House of Representatives. Wahls has two mothers, and came to oppose House Joint Resolution 6 which would end civil unions in Iowa.

God said that only a man and a woman should be married and that's why it should be illegal? well if we're using that logic, then eating pork should be illegal. divorce should be illegal. eating shrimp should be illegal. premarital sex should be illegal. shaving beards should be illegal. you don't see anyone protesting these problems do you? it's because the law shouldn't be dictated by the bible, that's why this country was formed in the first place.

There's nothing wrong with being gay, no matter what the Bible says. The Bible was written by men, who, the majority of the time, don't have enough brains to realise that people can feel love for one another no matter their sex.

Not only this is true, but having the church control the state its totally backwards of what Jesus wanted. After destroying a market for selling doves in God's name he said "Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God." (Mark 12:17) So yeah, some selective Bible application the government does.

Attempting to slip "god" into the equation as if any prior work has ever been accomplished on your behalf to show that god exists? None has, despite millennia of wishful thinking, hollow assertions, and the popularity of the concept, including the Bible, which is itself just the claim.

This is fantastic because it disproves the theory that a gay couple can't raise a kid, and I'm absolutely sick of the argument "god said it's wrong so it's wrong" because let me tell you something - I don't give a flying fuck what god said.

That argument is terrible because it's religious people trying to force their beliefs onto other people. If you believe god doesn't want you to be gay, then don't marry someone of the same sex, but don't try to force your bigoted belief onto someone else.

Life is not just about who is the most strong, you taking life in such a barbarian way and it´s sad that in this time that we live, where we are supose to be evolved human beigns there is still people who thinks has the right to stop others thinking or acting different from what they believe. Live and let others live too. You have no right to stop others from beign happy.
