Who is Philip Wollen? (Find out more via http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_W...

"Philip was vice president of Citibank, specialising in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions.

At age 34, he was rated by Australian Business Magazine in their Top 40 Australian head-hunted executives. At age 40, he witnessed cruelty on such a colossal scale that it affected him profoundly. He decided to give away everything he owned with warm hands, and die broke. 'And so far, we are right on budget,' he jokes.

Today he devotes his life to children, animals, the environment, the terminally ill, the homeless and the arts. He supports over 500 humanitarian projects in over 40 countries with schools, orphanages, shelters, sanctuaries, clinics, and scholarships.

In 2005 he received the Order of Australia. In 2007 he was Australian of the Year, Victoria. The Australia Day Council said of him, 'Essentially a private man, Philip Wollen seeks no personal publicity but is not afraid to step into the limelight for a just cause.' "

I think your ethically farming just can't exist. It's an uthopia.

And also misses some important points:

    1) Animals are not property (can't be selled)

    2) We don't have the right to kill them.

There is no cruelty in my words; I am not saying that the bad business practices of animal torture should go unpunished. I am saying that eating the flesh of other animals is NOT WRONG. You are stupid to believe that humans are outside of the natural order. Some animals eat vegetation, some animals eat other animals, and some animals eat both. Humankind evolved into that third category; animals that eat both animals and vegetation.

No - I won't trust you, if you don't mind. You know nothing! You proudly refuse to take on board any information that contradicts your own prejudice? Are you prepared to read the masterful and exhaustive work of Prof T Colin Campbell? Dean Ornish? the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine? Johns Hopkins? Harvard Med School? So don't ask us for evidence. You have already made up your mind. Or you are incredibly cruel, astonishingly ignorant, or deliberately obtuse.

Except that I won't. Trust me, there are certain proteins and fatty acids we can ONLY get in sufficient quantities from animals, such as Omega-3, and even if there are harmful effects to meat, we've been eating it for over 100,000 years. After all, look to our closest primate cousin, the Chimpanzee; they eat meat and vegetation, including EACH OTHER. Being an omnivore is not the wrong path for humanity; we EVOLVED this way.

You may wish to listen to Gary Yourofsky's speeech. It is not exhaustive but I think you will find many reasons to change your mind.

Implying that because humans can't maintain natural equilibrium, like predators do, they're outside natural law is fallacious. Our digestive system, while not perfectly omnivorous, is still more evolved towards omnivore tendencies than towards herbivore tendencies. The same with our teeth; they aren't perfectly omnivorous, but are much more suited for an omnivore than a pure herbivore. Stop using straw men to try and undermine an argument. Give me evidence.

Of course you are absolutely right! All those stupid vegans have no proof the only proof is that meat causes cancer, but still not enough. And of course we are omnivorous because we have SAME teeth like dogs or bears and same stomachs and have an absolute right to eat another animals because it is natural: all the tigers and lions do the same, breed antelopes and zebras feed them grain they grew, slaughter them in houses they built before with knives they made on their own.

    Am I wrong???

Well, this is the problem. Where is the line with eating animals? If intelligence, smartness or dexterity is THE LINE, why don't we eat mentally challenged people, people in coma or even human embryos. Does this idea sound disgusting to you? Why? Why most people wouldn't eat their pets? Aren't we all being hypocritical by choosing one animal to prefer as our dearest friend but another to have for dinner? Tough questions...

"A vegan diet is simply better...for humans." Proof. Give me proof. Because I'm pretty sure the human body has evolved into an omnivorous one. You can see it in the organs, and even in our teeth. Also, if you find humans killing animals wrong because they're sentient, you should see ALL ANIMALS killing ALL OTHER ANIMALS as wrong because they're sentient. Don't even begin to say "but that's just the natural food chain." Because that means you are putting humans outside of the natural order.
