The classroom setting is not one which is conducive to the nurturing of creative or critical thinking skills. It's all about the memorization and regurgitation of information. Some very valuable skills are learned in school, and every child deserves to be taught how to read, write, and understand math. But they should also be allowed to EXPRESS themselves and make independent decisions for the nature of their education. Conventional education seems to be more about indoctrination than education.
