In the spirit of "ideas worth spreading," TED has created TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxMileHigh, where x = independently organized TED event. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

The issue here is not the ubiquity of transgenic crops, it's the affect of transgenic crops on humans. The bit she skips over at the start. While I for one am impressed by this woman's credentials and full scholarship to business school, I'd be much more impressed if she had read a bit of high school biology text book. Bt and Bt transgenic crop studies have been published in over 300 academic journals. There is no evidence of a causal relationship between Bt and cancer. Or allergies. Or AIDS.

I'm blinded by tears, even though I have known this for quite a few years, but it hit home the last few years when 10 of close friend I know died of cancer. 4 of which were childhood friends and were all around the age of 40-43. They were beautiful thriving young mothers, all gone far too soon.
