I shot this in South Central last July.

There was an outpouring of grief and rage after the Zimmerman verdict. A large group of protesters started at Lemert Park and walked north on Crenshaw. The LAPD escalated the situation, forced a confrontation, then clubbed and shot people with projectiles.

The march went to hollywood and beyond late into the evening culminating with more police violence and arrests.

My July 14th footage ended up on the news in the UK and other places around the world.

It also found its way into a Mos Def video - "Made you Die"

*Look at the woman on the right side of the frame at around 0:29 whose head snaps back when the cop hits her in the face.
