Lots of straight people don't want to get married Perky. What's your point?

I'm not looking for anyone to approve of my 22 year relationship with my same-sex partner. What I am looking for is equal rights and protections under the law. In many parts of the country I can be denied employment, housing or access to see my partner in hospital simply because I'm gay. In the year 2012 this exists. I'm not an activist for wanting to be treated equally. "Special" rights? No. EQUAL RIGHTS!

Lol, you're just in denial. As am I apparently. Perkins presents this stuff as fact, as though The Gays are the only ones who can (at times) feel empty and alone. I personally don't want him or society to accept me - I'm beyond caring about that. But one could imagine why some gay people do feel empty and alone. Listening to Tony and those of his ilk for a prolonged period of time could make anyone feel despair.

My man and I celebrate 23 years of togetherness next week. Ya!

Just let them get married! It's not directly effecting anyone else if two women or two men get married. It's not affecting you or me in any way. And they are not "redefining" marriage. They're not telling everyone that gay marriage should be the only marriage. What thy're doing is exercising their right to marry their consenting adult partner. That's it.
