So Jack White & Third Man Records had a little party for their 3rd anniversary. At the party all the attendees got a special LP that spins at 3 RPM. Well when I got home the wife thought she would give it a try and spin the record by hand....well you can see the results.

    The slowest turntable speed ever made is 8 RPM. And it was used on rarely found special phonographs for talking books for the blind.

    I know Jack White loves the number 3, but an entire 3 RPM record that nobody at all can play is just BIZARRE when one whole side of a 12" 8 RPM record can play for THREE FULL HOURS......

    It's not an actual release, he created it for a special occasion.

    I'm actually a 16 year old girl who just appreciates good music ;__;

    This isn't 'art', though. How I see it, Jack White wants to see music review site reactions to this style of music he's taking, to see if the writesr idolize him whether or not and suck off his ego, or if they speak honestly, judging him not from a White Stripes standpoint but from a normal artist standpoint. He can afford to play around with his career at this point.

    Sorry, don't know if any of this made sense, it's 4/20 ._.

    Neat's great. I can shit out neat all day. I'm going to list my neat little turds on eBay - are you going to be the first bidder? I'll even sell them in 3's so I can be just like Mr. White. I actually have a few cool pictures disc with interesting interviews on them - ya know, stuff I can listen to without ruining my turntable?

    Also, it would not be that hard to play the record (also alluding to your (and quite frankly, everyone else's) retardedness. (And this is a far easier way than 4-track guy down there): Play record (at 33-1/3 or whatever), record into computer. Use pretty much any audio-software to slow it down by, ya know, 11.1 or so, and BAM. Listenable music (although it will probably not sound so good cause, ya know, it's at 3 RPMs). It'd be far more fun if it was new stuff though.

    The point is it's neat. I'm sure the "money wasted" wasn't very much because he only made a few, correct? He has a thing with the number 3. It makes sense. It falls in line with picture-discs. They're ridiculously expensive for no gain, they're just cool.

    Obviously you misunderstood what I was saying. I know there's a shit-ton of music on that disc. What I'm saying is you can fool with your turntable all day and maybe hear an 8 second passage that actually sounds like it should.

    There's nothing BAD about doing this - but there is something STUPID about it. IF someone finds a way to make a 3RPM turntable that's fantastic - then they will have uh, from 29-58 songs to listen to on it, dude. Sounds worth the investment.

    Obviously you know nothing about vinyl.

    And what's bad about him doing this? Maybe someone will find a way to create a 3 rpm turntable because of this.

    Besides, there's not 8 seconds of music on it. It's from 29-58 songs, dude.

    I'm not the one spending hours trying to play this insanely slow record just so I can enjoy 8 seconds of music I could find elsewhere. Who's the retard exactly? Go to the mirror and have a look.
