The purpose of his speech was to highlight the fact that, thinking you're the best does not mean you're the best. That title must be earned, and the only way to do that is through effort and achievement, not hollow titles and meaningless accolades.

I was reading Time magazine about the me, me, me generation and they mentioned this video. Very well done.

You're only worthless and meaningless if you live your live to that end. Many survivors of the Jewish Holocaust pulled themselves up and lived extraordinary lives. If you are improperly nurtured, it does not follow that your nature is less resilient than the nature of any other person.

Unfortunately, not all parents do much for their children already. Some parents are financially able to provide for their children any after school activities or some don't even care. Though I agree with what you're trying to say, no one should be generalizing and nor should you.

He should take care not to generalize. There are those high school students who suffer through high school, either through bullying, handicaps, or through familial causes and still, there are those who maybe on the verge of suicide because they feel so worthless or meaningless, or because they don't feel any hope for a better life.
