The real danger of a laser pointer isn't the light. Cats will go for the excitement every time; but afterwards, they have something that is still driving them; they don’t know what it is- but we do ---frustration. It is especially important for us to conclude our laser games with some kind of triumph for our cats that lets them know they have “won.” Using a laser is OK for 20 secs. max, but only if you top it off with a treat.
