Following GOP strategy, Fox News is again blaming the Obama Administration for rising gas prices -- a claim that has been repeatedly debunked by energy analysts. But back in the summer of 2008 when the average U.S. gasoline price hit a record high of $4.11, Fox said that "no President has the power to increase or to lower gas prices" and the only way to reduce our vulnerability to gas price spikes is to use less oil.

I wish people understood that Fox News wasn't a news channel. The name is confusing, I know..

So what they're saying, even though he wasn't elected yet, is it's all Obama's fault?

Once again O'Riley is completely full of shit. Cutting consumption would work if gas/oil prices were driven by supply and demand, but they are not. The vast majority of the commodities market has been taken over by speculators who do not actually use the commodity they trade in. Politicians could put regulation back in place (pre-2000 era The Commodities and Futures Modernization Act). If there were a supply problem, you'd get to the gas station, and there'd be no fucking gas.
