Btw, since it seems you're able to track the shape and position of the object in 3D, perhaps you could use the view from different angles to produce separated diffuse, reflectivity and reflection maps of the object to render things like speculars etc more accuratly even when the object is deformed? And by moving the object that is being tracked i think perhaps you might even be capable of obtaining a rough model of the lighting of the environment.

Does it allow you to use any cylindrical object with enough details on the side or do you have to program the specific objects into it before running the thing?

Woah! A Doctor Pepper can! I didn't know it was a real brand, I had only seen it in Steins;Gate. BTW, this whole technology is amazing, I'm doing my thesis based on AR and this just blows my mind. Cheers.
