Extreme heat, drought, storms, and other weather disasters are increasingly fueled by climate change and affect everyone regardless of political affiliation. Now two scientists — one who has usually voted for Republicans, the other for Democrats — have come together to urge leaders of both parties to find bipartisan solutions to human-caused climate change.

    In one corner we have:

The scientific method, rational risk management, and a sense of altruism that prioritizes the well-being of future generations over the short-term comfort of our own.

    And in the other:

Anti-science ignorance, irrational self-destruction, and unchecked consumption at the expense of our progeny.

I wonder which side history will favor 100 years from now?

Yeah, those fake flowers and trees blooming earlier and earlier, those phonies!

The fake ice in the arctic fraudulently melting away more and more each year.

The made-up pH in the oceans pretending to drop by 30%, the hacks!

You are factually incorrect. Human activity releases far more CO2 (by several orders of magnitude) than Volcanoes or any other natural process.

The USGS, Discover magazine, and US Department of Energy all have resources confirming what I have said

I'm not a scientists, but I'm 52 years old, old enough to have observed the changes in our climate, I cannot say what is going to happen, but I can say that changes are happening, that should serve as a warning, but if the deniers want to continue to gamble then so be it, the changes will not discriminate, rich or poor, old or young, religious or not, the changes will affect us ALL.

It doesn't entirely matter what the U.S. does, it is not the only country in the world. It is not a roll model that other nations will or do follow. It is not likely it or any other nation is going to give up oil and coal for expensive, "clean" energy solutions. Especially when greed motivates so much better than concern for future generations. Unless forced by cataclysmic events, no change will be affected. By such time it is unlikely anything will prevent humanity from wiping itself out.

That's why scientists should not support either party. It's just not rational to do so.

No matter the party, politicians only care about votes and their current or next election cycle, little more.

lol idk bout y'all, but i much rather not spend billions in this shit and worry about our money problems in the usa.. or there will be no research like these people want. The earth can w8 till we get out shit together before we put all this money into something that cant even be 100% proven. even so our schooling systems are hurting as well, no smart people means no research. Just use your brain people don't feed into this just yet.
