Schools like Clearwater High School and Curtis Fundamental Elementary have been using Kindle e-readers to engage students and enrich the learning experience. Now, any school can bring Kindle to their classrooms with Whispercast — Amazon's new, free tool that help schools manage Kindle devices and wirelessly distribute books and documents to students.

This is a great thing Whispercast. I have an iPhone, iPad, & Nexus 7 & Multiple KIndles. The Kindle is my Go To Device every day because I can read in direct sunlight, incredible battery life, can add notes to what I am reading, & since I work & working on another degree in college it reads to me when I am tired from a long day. Plus don't get distracted by Facebook or Notifications. I couldn't picture reading without my Kindle.

I'm a Kindle owner, but had never heard of the feature Whispercast, which allows organizations to synch a network of Kindles with content. This is a very cool idea for schools, because it would encourage kids to read more by making it both more convenient and appealing to their ‘digital native’ aesthetics. I also think Whispercast would be a great option for higher education - it could truly save college students a lot of money if universities adopted a similar program.

I dont think this will work, kids dont care about weather its a book or some tablet, either way I doubt they'll find words on a screen anymore interesting than words on a peice of paper

I admit, I wasn't much of a reader but with the Kindle Fire, I'm starting to read more.
