Illustration by Franklin Schoonover and Aaron Miller. Music by Nick Ingram "Mars". This is a fan trailer that draws upon previously released trailers and the sizzle reel cut by Eric Jessen of the John Carter editorial team. It is dedicated to the memory of Edgar Rice Burroughs and for those who care about such things -- THIS captures what those of us who have been enchanted by Edgar Rice Burroughs feel when we think about this movie.

Disney didn't screw the marketing. They just underestimated the level of douchebaggery the internet sinks to. They saw aliens, desert, and that's all they needed to dismiss it, then meme it to death as some kind of Avatar rip-off. In other words, the internet is stupid.

Just finished "John Carter and the Gods of Hollywood"!

Man, I knew that there was a lot of "sausage making" involved in the Movie Biz, but for stupidity + incompetence + Not Giving a Da-- THIS one's gotta take the cake. Stanton did an INCREDIBLE job making a WONDERFUL Movie that the "Powers-That-Be" couldn't find a way to fit into their "Vision for the Company" so they cut the legs out from under it!

Barsoom deserved MUCH Better treatment after 100 years of inspiring imaginations.

I'm right at this part of your book, Michael - extraordinarily well edited trailer for a great movie, hats off! Great timing of scenes and music. Would have loved to see this on the big screen!

I have to agree with most the other comments on here. Your fan trailers actually got me excited to want to see this movie. Don't know how a huge company like Disney can fail so miserably at marketing a movie they spent so much money on. I guess they got lazy and so used to relying on huge names and IPs like Star Wars, Marvel, Spiderman, Jack Sparrow, etc...they forgot how to market a movie that doesn't sell itself on name basis. This movie deserves a second chance...and screw the media!
