People will say that they can't turn America into Nazi Germany, Part 2, but they can't prove it. I can't prove that it will happen, and they cannot prove that it won't happen.

The argument of checks and balances isn't a good one, because Presidents have been enacting Executive Orders that temporarily override the check and balance system for years.

It only takes one bad Executive Order, and we are all screwed, especially if that Executive Order temporarily suspends checks and balances.

Yeah, it's the idea that Nazi Germany is a historical fact. A lot of people keep chanting the mantra that Obama started, saying "They don't want to take all of your guns."

Lots of people will point out the Nazis didn't pass gun control laws, but rather confiscated everyone's guns.

There is little difference between confiscation by force and confiscation by legislation, when the end result is that the People lose something as a result.

I understand, but V for Vendetta was made to criticize the British government for it's constrictive control over the country and people. But I can definitely see where you're coming from with Schindler's List.

I never saw V for Vendetta. Was that movie based on historical facts and events, or just a thought provoking piece of fiction? Schindler's List was based on facts and events, with much of what happened being related by holocaust survivors.

I'm not against your bringing up V for Vendetta, but the point is that Schindler's List has a factual foundation. It stands as a perfect example of what has really come to pass in countries where guns were taken from the people.

I saw a movie once about a country where only the police and army had guns. It was called "Schindler's List".
