Megan Kamerick has been a business reporter for 16 years. She's received awards around the country for investigative profiles, breaking news, and her portrayal of women. She has received top honors for her work in New Orleans on business and environmental stories, and has been recognized nationally by the Association of Area Business Publications for an editorial on civil liberties. As president of the Women in Journalism Symposium, Megan is working to change the way gender roles affect how news is covered in the world today.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
