Panasonic presents its Head Care Robot. The robot is designed to support staff at hospitals and care facilities with hair washing. The robot will undergo trials for 2 months at Hair Salon Super Seo in Nishiyama City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.

To those saying it couldn't handle long hair, a big afro, or whatever else: Moore's Law. No hair will be beyond the next model, or the one after that.

To those saying that this MUST remain a human job: in many hospitals and nursing homes there simply are not enough humans doing this job to let everybody get their hair washed more than once a week or so. Taking the robot away won't lead to more human interaction, just to dirty hair.

I'm waiting for the robot which can STYLE hair.
