This was cool, but I can't be the only one slightly annoyed that someone is constantly telling us what's happening. We can clearly see and understand what's going on ourselves. It's almost like watching The Lion King and someone is going "Ok, so the wildebeests are coming down the canyon. Simba is terrified, he starts running. He's running to get away from the stampeded. Now, they're closing in on him, and now you see that Simba continues to run away...yep, yep. He's running....".

Actually loads of survivors gave testimonies of seeing it spilt. The reason for the "down in one peace" story came when the court hearings on Titanic were held. Passengers testified they saw her break in half, but most of the officers and crew said she went down whole because they didn't want the reputation of White Star Line damaged for building weak ships.
