happen though. We first need to teach our children to value education. I didn't care at all about education when I was younger because it was cool to slack off and be ignorant, and my mom and teachers didn't care enough. It was only years later, (after an epiphany in science class) that I started to obsess about learning. If we effectively raise the value of education in the eyes of our children and their parents through media and of course eliminating poverty, there's a chance that'll happen.

Well I hope that we have learning of material outside of class, and discussion in class with guidance of teachers and peers. In my experience, that is by far the most effective way of learning. Spending time having a teacher talk the lesson to you is okay (if it doesn't interfere with discussion and contemplation), but most of the time it's sit and read a book. Since we have mastered printers and digital information, it seems pretty obsolete to me. I think our culture needs to change for that to

I absolutely agree with you. What do you see happening with the education system in the next hundred years?

Oh I understand why they do it. I should've put "didn't have to teach for a fucking test." because many of them feel they have no choice. Still, my point stands that teachers and parents need to work together in the education of their children, you can't just blame one side (usually)

It's always the teachers fault. They'll never admit it. They arent worth being called teachers. Have a fuckin face on all day and take all their anger out on students just cos they think £150 a day isn't good enough. Neither are your faces motherfuckers.

You'll want to review the NCLB, your state standards, and merit-based pay to see why teachers feel they have to teach to the test.
