Its not actual 12 dimensions. It means it has 12 degrees of freedom. It's kinda tricky to explain in this comment, but google "Degrees of freedom", you'll find very good explanations about it.

Actual space is not the 3 (4 if you count time) dimensions that we know and love ... according to math and physics there are a total of 11 ... he says 12 because there is an extra one to account for angular direction with respect to the ground
