The Known Universe takes viewers from the Himalayas through our atmosphere and the inky black of space to the afterglow of the Big Bang. Every star, planet, and quasar seen in the film is possible because of the world's most complete four-dimensional map of the universe, the Digital Universe Atlas that is maintained and updated by astrophysicists at the American Museum of Natural History. The new film, created by the Museum, is part of an exhibition, Visions of the Cosmos: From the Milky Ocean to an Evolving Universe, at the Rubin Museum of Art in Manhattan through May 2010.

Totally agree with you. We are many years away (100? 1000?) from having the technology to discover life in our universe. And with our current governmental efforts (slashing budgets) that's even less of a reality. We will only make it a priority when we as a human race are under risk of extinction. If alien life does exist (as you stated), it will contact us. :)

Science is the operation of providing why something is not, there is no proving something is true. It is actually the opposite. I do agree that the world will change if intelligent life is found but honestly we will never find it with our technological capabilities. If we encounter extraterrestrial intelligent life it will contact us. As for simple organism, I'm sure we can find that but finding EIL's is out of the question. They will find us. Humans are Embryos in Universe years. Earth too.

actually, muslims wouldn't have a problem with that. in the daily prayers, 5x a day, muslims say "All praise is to God, Lord of all the Worlds." so discovering aliens or whatever wouldn't be as disconcerting a theological problem as it might possibly be for other religions.

Don't try to change the subject. You have no idea what you're talking about. And as far as taking the bible literally? You're joking right? It's a collection of stories made up by man. I never implied that i was taking anything literally. It's a part of history. Pick up a book and read or search the internet. FIN. Done arguing with ignorance.

Btw, the "human classification"known as races is a human "invention", as well as racism. Nor the Bible, nor God, doesn't make a distinction between humans. People do.

But you implied that they claim that, which is not true. Actually, not that THEY had no idea at the time, nobody still have no idea. All we can do is to suppose and speculate.

Please, don't take the Bible literary. Nobody claims, the Bible doesn't claims that there is only one race. It says - man (and woman). Further, it's not religions that has claimed that world is flat, the whole humanity claimed it in that point of time (the same goes for Earth being the center of the universe).
