I hope everyone knows that this is more a critique of the people with 'social grace' than it is the 'commoner'. As far as the drink goes, he has it right. Especially the part about the ice. That's a key factor in getting your drink cold but not diluted. Cheers!

odd....the martini, 80% proof is totally more damaging to liver than beer or champagne or wine, which are 13% alcohol. Also wine with its acidity is much better to consume with food since it helps digest food. Beer is mostly grain...which gives you carbohydrates/ energy?
