This clip is RATED "C' for CIVILIZED
The following edit from "Le charme discret de la bourgeoisie"
illustrates Luis Buñuel's own recipe for a dry martini.
I edited out the "sex scene" out because it distracts the viewer
from the far more important matter of mixing a "civilized" martini.
Beer guzzlers should only view this video in the company of
a well-attired person who is fluent in French.

  • I hope everyone knows that this is more a critique of the people with 'social grace' than it is the 'commoner'. As far as the drink goes, he has it right. Especially the part about the ice. That's a key factor in getting your drink cold but not diluted. Cheers!

  • odd....the martini, 80% proof is totally more damaging to liver than beer or champagne or wine, which are 13% alcohol. Also wine with its acidity is much better to consume with food since it helps digest food. Beer is mostly grain...which gives you carbohydrates/ energy?

  • The chauffeur spat into all the bottles the week before.
