Fla. to Examine Graves at Reform School

A group of men who say they suffered physical, sexual and emotional abuse as boys while incarcerated at the Florida State Reform School in the state's Panhandle are calling for an investigation into unmarked graves at the school. (Dec. 10)

Probably orphans or unwed mothers gave them up. Abuse/Corporal punishment was very common in those days, in schools too.

If you look at literature about reform schools in the 1920's though the early 1960's some of the accounts are quite brutal. And those were toned down.
