Dumbasses the fire can't go back into the can, learn something about fire and aerosol. It's perfectly safe.

i don't know what you guys are talking about, but it is potentially dangerous. i am saying this from experience. i was doing the same thing with a aerosol can with a lighter and somehow the flame came back to the can, it didn't exactly "explode" but it bursted into a big ball of flames in my hand. luckily i dropped it quick enough and just had a few minor burns. my best advice is to only spray in short bursts.

Evilgenius60 is right, it is impossible to blow up in your hand like that, I've even made a video proving such. Oh and yes, i have sprayed cooking oil onto a pan while its on the stove, it just sprayed the pan with oil.

There's no oxygen in the can, so it's impossible to ignite inside the can. Combustion requires oxygen. Also, how can the flame travel into the can, when you're pushing it in the opposite direction?

Haven't you ever sprayed cooking oil onto a pan while its on the stove? The flame travels up the gas and into the can, where it can't escape so it blows up. Effectively shooting melting hot metal into your hand. Although if you hold it upwards it usually don't blow

it can't do that, there is no air inside the can and fire wont burn inside it :)
