Andy Manos, with the labor committee of Occupy Chicago was with the original "occupation" group who camped out on the sidewalks in front of the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank at LaSalle and Jackson in October of 2011 in the days after Occupy Wall Street began in New York. Weeks later, across the street in front of Bank of America and in the shadow of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (birthplace of the Tea Party movement), Andy helped organize the first in a series of hundreds marches and actions leading up to the NATO Summit march and demonstration on May 20, 2012

AN OPEN LETTER TO EVERY OCCUPY SUPPORTER, FROM BUNNY

According to the National Lawyer's Guild's report, The Policing of Political Speech: Constraints on Mass Dissent, in the U.S. most allegations against protesters are proven false after the fact.

"Time and time again, millions of dollars have been obtained by the police departments for personnel and equipment at large events, justified by confidential informant testimony that large numbers of 'anarchists' are planning to attend and engage in violence. Closer examination of the facts often reveals the falsity of such allegations: numerous police informants, many with criminal backgrounds, admit when later questioned that activist groups they infiltrated never planned any violent activities. Indeed, millions more have been spent paying damages to the demonstrators victimized by these tactics."

This is exactly why Occupy lost me. Though I agree with their idea of the 99%, I don't stand with them. People are getting slaughtered in the neighborhoods of Brown people, and here's this blue eyed, blonde haired kid blaming it on the police. REALLY? Come into our neighborhoods Andy, live the life of a Brown person, then make that claim. Comment on what you know. Talk about our nation's BS politics, the selfish 1%, in other words, issues that you understand.
