He is a paranoid schizophrenic. We watched this the other day in our Abnormal Psychology course.

This here is an example of circumlocutory speech, which is a category of the disorganized speech that comes with this disorder. It just means that he will start with a topic, but then will go way off on unrelated tangents that return him to the topic. He even prepared his statement.

It's a sad, baffling disorder that takes someone away but leaves them alive and functioning.
