the evac procedure is to leave your things and get out and away from the aircraft as fast as possible. in this situation, it appears that it is get out slowly (and get ur things) and then get away from the plane.

Unless it is obvious the captain isn't going to order an immediate evacuation. He doesn't know what hazards lie outside what exits, engines may still be spooling, and as long as there is no need to have people running around outside the safest place is in your seat.

"they evacuated fine" wtf are u taking about. did u see how long they were sitting on the plane before they began to evacuate, did u see the smoke in the cabin. and the crew weren't moving the passengers quickely to get out of the plane
