When this film was made, Britain was fighting for her very existence with her back to the wall. This film did much to solidify the American support for Britain which was vital.
For this reason, I am very attached to this film and to the wonderful director, producer, actors and crew who made it.

I had never seen this film until we looked at it last year as part of the representation of war through film as part of my history degree earlier this year. Absolutely loved it and found it very moving. Thankyou so much Shaina for making it available here

This is one of my favorite period movies of all time. The dress, the city, the cars, the war - the message - it's all worth remembering.
