Krantz is too overwhelming; i like this band better with Rogers; it's less monopolized. Krantz just can't stop blowing off, he forces Potter into quick loud aggression, which is cool at times, but I like much better the build up he manages with Rogers. I think it's more musical and makes things more diverse.
Much as I love Adam Rogers's playing this band seems to have a deeper range with Krantz, goes more places. Krantz is so at home in the one chord world and plays much more texturally. Just my humble opinion. It's all good!!!
yes, you just dont know better. Wayne Krantz is a God and has an unreal ability in many aspects of music, but if you can't understand that Chris Potter, Craig Taiborn, and Nate Smith are unreal then you are missing out. But maybe you havent heard anything other then this video. Check out Chris Potter with Dave Hollands Quintet.
But i guess i will buy the CD anyway cause Wayne Krantz music is rare stuff
